THE FULL STORY
* Produced from 1962 to 1989, the "no date" version of the Submariner underwent many changes throughout its production, making it the delight of any attentive collector today. Our copy is one of the first to have abandoned the gilt dial for matt, since it is from the year of this evolution, 1966. These dials, whith depth first entered in meters, here 200m = 660 ft, will only be produced until 1969 before the inversion (660ft - 200m).

At a quick glance the reference 5512 looks almost identical to the reference 5513, however the 5512 was fitted with a chronometer-certified movement whereas the 5513 was not. The caliber 1570 that was used in the 5512’s underwent timing tests conducted by the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres), a Swiss company that certifies accuracy of movements after passing their specifications.
