Pair of very large fibulas in chiseled silver and enamel
Origin: Tiznit - South of Morocco (berberes)
The fibulas are in high grade silver - minimum 800°
(test with touchstone)
nicely chicle, enameled and decorated with colored glass
The upper part (near the spin) is enameled as well as the center.
Dimensions (each):
Width: 11,2 cm
Height: 18,5 cm with buckle and pin
Gross total weight: 131,678 g
Known in Marocco as Tizerzai, fibulas are essential components of female adornment and are worn in pairs as cloak fasteners.
Their size, weight and workmanship reflect the wearer’s social status. The inverted triangle represents the female form.
Good condition (few misses of enamel and traces of wear)
